If I could have stayed,
Remained with my heart,
Together we'd've played,
And not now be apart.
If I could have gone
To the other school,
A better job have done,
And not now often feel a fool.
If I could have lept
Myself just a little further,
Stayed up instead of slept,
And not now have my druthers.
But I being me
Didn't stay or go or leap.
Yet taking two steps back
Take joy in all I'll keep.
