There's times all couples go through this
A little bit of minor tiff
That makes the bond to seem a miss,
And conversation turns too stiff.
It's these odd times that I recall
The hours we've talked through text and speech
That adds to us, our overall
Relationship and memories.
Remembering times of good and bad,
I think of that which gave me joy;
I think of that which made me sad.
Yet times like these I do recall
Ten time more of glad than sad.
I think of bottles of wine we've shared,
The meals of foreign cuisines,
The conversations we've had o'er those,
And how we live off meager means.
Then memories come of your dear smile,
The way your bangs are ne'er in place,
Your laugh that carries for a mile,
And the little wrinkles on your face.
Even in these times so rough,
I know we too'll continue through;
It's just that when I'm in a huff,
I find it hard to see us two
After this with problems none,
And I regret having strewn
A miff until it's ridiculous
That I feel I will soon swoon.
Forgive me dear for what I've said
In a moment that's seemed weird to me;
I may have voiced unfinished thoughts
Lost like Odysseus in hateful seas.
I love you dear; this you must know.
You are my heart, my everything.
I love you dear; with no 'although!'
You give me love unlike anything.
